This strategy must be questioned

Jovan Nepaul challenges Fararge

Well that saved me a bit of bother! I had been planning on spending this morning putting together a piece about how worried we should be about what happened in Clacton – not because a certain person finally made it into parliament (although I agree that’s a shameful thing) but because it was so obviously aided and abetted by Starmer. As it happens, Peter Oborne has done it better than I would have – have a listen…

Here’s the story of Jovan Nepaul, the candidate Labour actively blocked from campaigning against the wildly over-promoted (by the BBC) F-person.

I’ll just add that today the media is full of what a surprise it was that the people of France rallied to bring the left into play, to block a far-right victory. Let’s remind ourselves why the media were so surprised by this – it’s because the media spend so much time and effort promoting the right wing of absolutely everything, they really believe themselves when they say the left has no relationship with the people.

I’d be completely baffled if I hadn’t just been reading a history book, and thinking about how the bottom-feeders amongst capitalists (you know, the sons of toolmakers and suchlike) have always used the far right to protect themselves from socialism.

The media will always try to sell you the idea of a ‘popular’ far right. Let’s stop believing them shall we, and start believing in ourselves instead.

  1. Thank you for sharing the Peter Oborne video Kay, I would likely have missed it otherwise. I am still reeling that the UK public went further right and gave Farage a seat after so many failed attempts. And, yes, I suspect he is coming for Labour, now that Starmer occupies the place that the Tories have lost.

For the first time in my life I voted Lib Dem, who were the only party who could oust the Tories in Frome and East Somerset, but it was a dismal and joyless vote for a party I have no faith in.

Going forward I intend to address the issue of who actually runs the country because we desperately need a sea change in public life and in empowerment of the people. It takes a little thought, perhaps, to know that despite all the hype and propaganda from government and the media, it is we the people who run the country. The government have a management role in law, the economy and services, often against the best interests of we the people, but the real time operation and running of the country lies in our hands. A better grasp of that simple truth might give people a greater incentive to hold government to account. I’m not holding my breath but it’s worth an airing against indoctrinated opinion. And wow, do we ever need change!

    All the best,
    Keith.
