Yes I know about the party directives, the potholes, the budget battles, the urgent community issues, the desire to win the next election etc

You can’t solve any of those things in the middle of World War Three. The best you can say to yourself is that after World War Three, there won’t be anyone around to ask why you didn’t try to stop it.

The countries best placed to stop the genocide and the tsunami of war it can trigger are Israel, the US and the UK.

Politicians can and will be pushed.

Please join the peacemakers.

Please call for a ceasefire now.

It’s not a natural disaster we couldn’t predict, it’s not a nebulous bunch of renegades that no-one can control. It’s Israel, massacring thousands of caged civilians, and it’s doing it because no-one in power is trying to stop it.

No-one, ever, anywhere in the world, solved the problem of terrorism by bombing civilians. The only way to stop the deaths, the injuries, the destruction, the starving and the thirsting, the stream of injured kids rushed to hospitals with no electricity, no clean water and no medicines is to call for, and if necessary enforce, a ceasefire.

Please send this, or a message like it, to every politician, everyone with a community or media voice, everyone you’re in touch with who has a platform or public voice — everyone you can reach, then get on down to the stalls and the demos for peace where you are. You won’t have to go far – they are everywhere.

We can influence our politicians and they can influence global politics. They can stop the war. If we make them do it.
