I thought there ought to be something out there that’s actually from me today, so here it is:
I would like to say thank you to all the people who went on the march in London yesterday to call for a ceasefire. I wasn’t there but if I had been, I would probably have chosen a placard saying ‘stop killing kids’.
I would also like to apologize to anyone who sent genuine messages or blog comments in the last 24 hours or so – I will probably never find them.
I’m saying that because someone posted a photo of someone with a peculiar placard on TwitX, and said it was me, and added a link to my blog which is why I have a whole load of blog messages and emails from people with very unconvincing names. Normally, I like people to comment giving other views on things I write about but this lot – well, if anyone’s wondering what the argument against a ceasefire is, I glanced at a few. The balance of them suggest that it is “f*** you, you ****.”
They seem to have given the blog quite a lift in search engine activity so I guess that’s the silver lining.
I’d also like to let my own followers know that I have reported all the above, and all the consequences of it, to the police and that friends are keeping an eye out for any further nonsense attributed to me so the perpetrators can be traced.
I was at another event of interest to women in particular and socialists in general yesterday, and will be blogging on that. I can’t yet as my typing stamina is limited due to a pulled muscle but – more from me soon.
Please keep talking about Palestine, and keep going out on the streets for peace!

Well done, Kay – for finding a way to respond to seriously horrible slanderous nonsense that’s been on TwiX today. Glad to hear you’ve gone to the police. Hoping the pulled muscle recovers soon. Axxx

Oh my goodness. Hope you are fine. What a terrible misfortune. That woman does not look like you at all.

I did see those tweets and did point out that they were probably wrong in identifying you and potentially libellous but once the pile-on had started it and the retweets proliferated it became pointless.
I disagree with you on multiple things probably including Palestine (though not when it comes to a ceasefire which FWIW my CLP did vote in support of on Tuesday) but this is awful and if this is what happens when idiots use rubbish facial recognition apps to try and dox people none of us are safe online.
Solidarity.

To me, the fact that discussing one’s political opinions on blogs and such like places leads to hearing different political views is the whole point. How else can we stay on planet real and understand each other? Thanks for the comment!
