Here’s how to help bring down this dreadful government from the safety of your own home

Step one is watching the Handala tracker.

Step two is making sure you have the email addresses of your MP and the Foreign Office to hand.

Why is this such a powerful opportunity? Because there’s plenty of evidence that Keir Starmer and his associates were seriously put out by our reactions to the attack on the Madleen. It goes like this…

Most people, whatever their particular areas of interest in home and world affairs, are less than happy with the government we have. Many feel the entire political and electoral system is now hopelessly corrupt. I agree with every word of that last sentence except ‘hopelessly’. Even the worst political organizations will crumble if there’s sufficient pressure on their weakest points.

One of the weak points of the current UK government is that they are beginning to upset the forces of the establishment itself – such as civil servants who do not appreciate being told to break the law, and police officers who are being given increasingly illogical instructions (because bad governments make bad laws).

When Israel attacked the Madleen, many people reported this unquestionable act of piracy to their MPs or the Foreign Office. Allegations were then made that those responsible for dealing with such reports were instructed by politicians not to do their jobs, because Keir Starmer’s government feared being cornered into reacting to Israel’s crimes.

I emailed my MP, and asked about this. She was bebothered enough to send me a lengthy reply, but she didn’t answer my question — That’s how I know we need to keep pushing at this. Starmer’s government are panicked enough now that they keep saying they’re trying to curb Israel’s actions, but not enough yet for them to do anything.

Let’s corner Keir Starmer’s government into reacting to Israel’s crimes.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition website

Watch the Handala. Read the reports from the Freedom Flotilla and, as soon as Israel breaks the law – that means threatening, damaging or boarding the ship or its crew in international waters – as soon as that happens, contact the Foreign Office, your MP, your local newspaper – anyone you know how to email, and report an act of piracy. Demand action, on the grounds that you’re a law-abiding citizen and you want your country to uphold the law, and share your actions on social media and my email, to encourage others to do the same.

The Handala is past the point where previous approaches to Gaza have been attacked, and is already being harassed by drones.

Please watch the Handala, please act when the time comes – it’s only a case of sending a few emails, but you need to bookmark and watch the tracker, and have the email addresses you want to use to hand.

As well as offering assistance to a long-standing humanitarian project, you might just be helping to load the straw that finally broke the back of this lousy government.
