To friends who aren’t willing to give Your Party a go, and to those who’ve given up in exasperation – I get it, I really do! But – well, the following may be a bit of a pickle but I think it’s how we need to be thinking…

Politics has been nothing if not fractious lately and I’ve heard a number of reasons offered for the increasing heat. I think a historical perspective may help. I’d like to suggest that it’s what happens when the ruling class feel seriously threatened.

In fact, the forces of the establishment have had their backs to the wall and have been rising to ever higher levels of panic for some years now. As for us, the majority, who are currently being robbed of our money, our peace of mind and in some cases our lives, and those who see far enough to know that the next heist is going to be our entire ecosphere, the big question is can we manage not to be drawn into an equivalent state of blind panic.

The huge polar amplification of heating continues. Tipping of the Greenland Ice Sheet all but certain now, locking in an eventual [approx] 7m rise. Say goodbye to much of Florida, and coastal towns and cities across the planet.

If you’re in any doubt about the desperate state of establishment forces, consider the horrendous attacks on our justice system just in the last few weeks – on juries, on right of appeal, on right to protest, and today at the PRIVATE institution, HMP Bronzefield, on the sanctity of life itself — anything, it seems, to deflect blame from a hopeless and irresponsible bunch of MPs who know what they are guilty of.

The National Scot covers MPs’ extraordinary disregard for citizens today, but nothing in the mainstream headlines south of the border…

If you doubt me on the appalling state of our government, take a look at Paul Holden’s book Fraud, which details – with checkable evidence – the intensity (and it seems to me, probable illegality) of the Labour Party right wing’s efforts, since Corbyn was elected party leader, to destroy the renaissance of the left, the indie press, people’s voice, and ultimately democracy. That is what brought Starmer and his crew into government.

Here’s a sample page to whet your appetite…

Tells the story of Morgan McSweeney and 'Labour Together's endeavours to destroy the left in Labour during two general election campaigns.

Fix or destroy?

My recent posts about Your Party, about Zara Sultana and about The Canary have been very critical – that’s not because I don’t want a socialist party, but because the latter are in my view, a part of the movement that is endangering the Your Party project with their identity politics instead of doing socialism

BUT

The Canary was our go-to site during the election campaigns we fought under Corbyn’s leadership in 2017 and 2019 and is still there reporting, despite the efforts of Morgan McSweeney and his henchmen to destroy it.

And in the last few years, Zara Sultana has been the voice every socialist needed to hear in Westminster, particularly on the subject of UK complicity in Israel’s endless crimes against Palestine and its neighbouring countries.

And today, the hunger strike by Palestine activists, some of whom have been imprisoned for well over a year WITH NO TRIAL DATE, LET ALONE A TRIAL, has reached a critical, life-threatening phase, and a startling number of the current crop of MPs in Westminster considered this situation amusing.

I want to drag Your Party back to socialism, where sex, race and class are the grounds we fight on, not trans or the made-up identities on the other side of the T in LGBTetc. I DO NOT want to destroy Your Party, because it’s currently our best defence against lethally bad government — and today was the day The Canary was reporting on the long vigil of activists outside Bronzefield, the PRIVATE prison which, like those scurrilous MPs, seemed willing to let a young woman die, and Zara Sultana was one of those standing vigil to save her.

The mainstream press didn’t help, and MPs in Westminster laughed.

Thank you, Zara Sultana. Thank you, Canary. I’m profoundly grateful for the result of your work today.

Also today, I’ve heard a raft of reports of sex-realists being kicked out of Your Party whatapps and Facebook groups. This has to stop. Identity politics divides us and causes jealous, defensive, individualistic behaviour. It is not what people want. Activists and TU people think it’s popular because they’re surrounded by ‘believers’. This is because critics of the ‘trans liberation’ agenda have been bullied out of their political groups. To the trans activists and members of sects, cults and other parties within Your Party, I say this: if I can appreciate the efforts of publications and MPs I disagree with on some things, so can you.

Can we please, please get back to socialism, where boycotts, vandalism and sabotage are tactics you apply to corporations that won’t obey the law or respect human life, but disagreement amongst comrades is approached by listening, learning and debating, and by building trust, standing together on topics we agree on.

Genocide and ecocide were what brought us together to form a new party. It really is do-or-die time.

NB Intifada means rebellion
