Season’s Greetings and a warning

[NB This article was dashed off in the run up to the last weekend of the year, to try to avoid a load of people missing The Flintoff Show — but the main point – DO NOT RELY ON SOCIAL MEDIA – is why it’s still here.]

I was going to put a happy garden pic up for a thank-you blog this morning, ready for New year’s Eve but you get a screenshot of The Flintoff Show YouTube Channel instead, because our most important job this morning is to tell everyone who follows the show that they need to go look for Flintoff on their YouTube channel today, as Facebook has shut down their normal advertising route. It’s a two-pronged attack, because Flintoff’s account has also been hacked or cloned or something, so if you do see anything on FB, it’s probably a fake.

Fortunately, Flintoff also has a website you can use, where you can sign up for mail notifications.

We’ve been telling each other for the best part of a year that we need to diversify our contact and news-gathering methods but I’m horribly aware that humans tell each other things need doing for quite a long time before they do anything.

The powers that be have had a real struggle to get us all to shut up and be stupid these last couple of years, mainly because the latest round of corporate-powered destruction has been so utterly, obviously evil (I mean, of course, the funding and support of Israel’s widespread campaign of death and terror) so they’re now working much harder to try and shut down online sources of information and gathering.

So yes, season’s greetings, thank you so much for reading/sharing/supporting this blog – please sign up for email notifications if you’re a WordPress account holder. If not, please bookmark the blog so you can find me when you want to if/when my FB account (or yours) goes down.

All the best for the New Year, and please make it your New Year’s Resolution to keep in touch with friends and comrades by a range of methods, especially including some that don’t rely on internet or tech at all.

Good luck for 2025!

    • Well done and thank you! Please share the blog and/or the news — I’ve lost count of the number of people I’ve had that ‘we must set up a telephone tree’ etc conversation with. We have to get moving!
