I had a couple of complaints last week that my blogs are getting long – sorry, here’s one for you – it’s so short that it fits in the header pic, so you can just share it like a meme, if you want.
Please send it to your MP – too many of them still don’t realise that when they say ‘transwomen are women’, they are supporting self-ID.
Innocent statements that are used to excuse killing
All lives matter
Who could possibly object? Anyone who realises this was used as an excuse not to support ‘black lives matter’ whenever black people spoke about how hard it was for them to live in the US and not get shot.
Trans lives matter
Who could possibly object? Anyone who realises this is being used to support the dismantling of women’s rights. Anyone who realises it is used as an excuse to sweep aside the fact that women are dying at the rate of two or three a week from a lack of access to effective single-sex protections.
Transwomen are women
Who could possibly object? Anyone who realises that women’s legal rights are based on the fact that women are a distinct sex-class. Trans people are protected in law as trans people. The law protects them from descrimination without denying women our definition of ourselves. We need that definition.
(That’s the end. Good and short, yes?)
